Youth Awards
JUNE 2018
One of our young hairdressing student was nominated by our student support into this year’s Geelong Youth Awards.
17 year old Iesha Anderson competes in ladies worldwide BMX racing on a regular basis as well as studying her Cert III in Hairdressing, which she graduated from in November.
She was nominated for the Sports award and leadership awards and we are very proud of her! Aside from her riding comps around the globe, Iesha graduated on time despite a serious operation on her knee and a couple of months on crutches. She maintained a ‘can do’ attitude her entire course.
Iesha also was employed in a salon just prior to her graduation and we wish her the utmost success as a hairdresser.
2018 Incampus Competition - Sept 2018
This year’s theme for our annual competition caused a growing ripple of excitement. With the theme being “BRIDES OF THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE” as the inspiration, what girl wouldn’t get excited, right?
So, with four hours to attend to their chosen models, our teams got to work and produced some amazing work with everything from a Vampire bride to the traditional Modern Bride.
The Awards went to;
1st Place Overall Winner– Dracula’s Wife
Hair-Frost Bride
Make-up-Zombie Bride
Nails -Dracula’s Wife.
Warwick Nation at Oxygen College, Geelong supplied the amazing shots below. We loved co-creating with Oxygen this year with their photography students, who also happened to be studying their wedding photography units and I think you’ll agree the combined talents made for some spectacular images.
The Centre of Excellence would like to acknowledge our judges at our 2018 competition. We can’t thank you enough for the effort you made in making this day so very exciting for joining us!

Steiner The On Board Spas Elizabeth Newman Visit - August 2018
Once again, we were delighted to have the lovely Elizabeth Newman visit our campus in Geelong to share life on-board a luxury liner as a beauty therapist or hairdresser with STEINER-THE ON-BOARD SPAS. Our fascinated students listened intently as Elizabeth shared her own journey in the industry and she is a true inspiration to this industry in showing that having a certificate doesn’t just mean a life in a salon. How great is it that we can be partners with such an exotic career option for our graduates?
Thank you Elizabeth for taking the time to visit us once more. We adore having you here!
Genu Our Partners
Throughout 2018, genU have been regular visitors to our campus with their ‘Be the Best Version of You’ and ‘Back to work’ programs. It is always a delight and an honour to collaborate with this wonderful team. We love it when the genU groups attend campus as part of their journey and our students are able to use their new skill sets to pamper these lovely community members. Our student support member and marketing manager, Jacqui loves meeting all the visiting groups and has the privilege of speaking to them as part of the day’s event.
OCT CARERS HIGH TEA-GENU

GEELONG SIDEWALK SALES - NOV
One of our favourite events every year is the Geelong sidewalk sales and despite the drizzly weather our tent was always full of our locals getting pampered by our gorgeous students!
Held on Melbourne Cup Day, our girls braved the weather and had the best day being amongst the community of Geelong. How lucky we are to be such active participants in our lovely city, Geelong!
