Don’t you just love the start of a New Year and all the possibilities which stretch out before you?
But are you stuck at the same desk job but wishing you had of done something more creative?
Well, it is never too late to learn a new skill and change the direction of your life into the one you want it to be.
The Centre of Excellence (COE) is excited for 2019 with the expansion of our Corio GITTC campus location. And the wonderful thing about this growth is it means more courses on offer!
We have decided to add to our range with two great hands-on courses at the trade centre with a Diploma of Building and Construction – CPC50210 and Certificate III in Painting and Decorating – CPC30611.
With our specialised and experienced trainers, and key course units which cover all aspects needed to qualify in the industry, these two trades are already proving popular choices for the COE for 2019.
What do the courses cover? From working with clients, meeting the needs of builders, how licencing is an important aspect, contracts and preparing tenders, overseeing building projects, small to mid-structural principals for residential and low rise constructions, costings and risk and quality assessments are just a few units which incorporate our Diploma of Building and Construction – CPC50210.
Certificate III in Painting and Decorating – CPC30611 includes everything you need to launch your own business in the colourful and inspiring world of painting and decorating. In just over a year’s study you will learn business units and everything from preparation of surface, application of paints and textures to various surfaces and risk management.
If you understand how competitive the building industry is, you will understand how important accreditation is these days. Whether you are employed with a large company or a small business, or branching out into your own business, having a recognised qualification gives you a serious advantage in credibility.
Our facilities are state of the art and the location at the GITTC trade centre allows for easy transport and free parking for those who drive. At approximately 10 mins from Geelong central and only an hour from Melbourne, the GITTC campus is perfect for those studying in regional areas but do not want to be hours away from the city.
Our trainers come with extensive backgrounds in their fields and at the COE, we are known for our expert hands on methods of training and these trade courses are no different. Our training rooms enable all students to experience building practices, or painting and decorating skills in a practical and spacious environment. We also feel it is important that class sizes remain intimate so every student is able to gain the most guidance through the duration of their course. We look forward to helping you walk towards your new careers!
